The Teatre Principal was the venue this Thursday for the award ceremony of the 9th edition of the Muncunill Innovation Awards. These awards, promoted and organized by the Terrassa City Council with the support of the Barcelona Provincial Council, aim to bring innovation closer to the public in all its facets and to recognize the work of companies that embrace innovation as a comprehensive model, thereby contributing to the improvement of people's quality of life.
The Muncunill Award for Business Innovation in the Cultural field, awarded to a company that has made a significant innovative contribution to society in the cultural sector, went to the Vallès Symphony Orchestra (OSV), a private orchestra with a unique cooperative model in Spain. It has a busy musical schedule with more than 140 performances per year, most of them at the Palau de la Música Catalana, but also at the Teatre La Faràndula (Sabadell), the Factoria Cultural in Terrassa, and in Sant Cugat del Vallès, among other Catalan towns. It is also the resident orchestra of the Òpera de Catalunya circuit and brings opera to the whole country through the Òpera a Catalunya Foundation.
The award highlighted OSV as an organization with a unique business model in the cultural sector, thanks to its cooperative structure, making it a singular example within the broader landscape of social economy initiatives, especially in the cultural field.
The nominated companies in this category were: Hamill Industries, MID Studio, Sauvage.TV, Gnomalab Estudio, The Mad Pixel, Media Vaca, the 3Cat platform, and the Vallès Symphony Orchestra.
