Educational Projects

Music helps people to develop their social skills, improve their memory and coordination, and deepen their motivation and sensitivity. As artists, we feel a responsibility for the growth process of our young people. This is why we are committed to disseminating across the country the values associated with playing and enjoying music. We regularly collaborate with the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu (Higher Music Conservatoire of the Lyceum) and the ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya – Higher Music School of Catalonia), as well as facilitating internships for postgraduate students.

A-CORDANT (STRINGING ALONG)

We incorporate violin, viola and cello lessons in the academic curriculum of 280 primary school children from three schools in Sabadell with little access to culture. This educational project is implemented in partnership with the Education Department of Sabadell City Council.

JOVE ORQUESTRA SIMFÒNICA DEL VALLÈS (VALLÈS YOUTH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA)

Every year we bring together talented young musicians from all over Catalonia to give them the chance to work with our soloists for a week. They get to find out how a professional orchestra works.

The week culminates with two concerts in the city of Sabadell: a chamber concert open to the public and a symphony concert at the city’s Teatre La Faràndula.

OSV ACADEMY

Once the weeklong workshop with the Jove Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès is over, we choose some students to join the professional orchestra groups for several concerts over the course of the season. This gives them the chance to continue to work with the orchestra’s principal players in order for them to gain more experience and knowledge of the music profession.

OPEN REHEARSALS

We hold open rehearsal sessions at our Sabadell facilities for local nursery schools, primary and secondary schools, and the elderly. We bring music closer to all the members of society who are keen to enjoy an enriching musical experience with a difference.

GRADUS AD PARNASSUM

In partnership with local music schools and conservatoires, we hold workshops and concerts at our facilities featuring musicians of the OSV and guest soloists who perform at the orchestra’s concerts.

AN INSTRUMENT CALLED ORCHESTRA

We perform an educational concert at the Teatre La Faràndula in Sabadell in which we show primary school students what a symphony orchestra is and the sections and instruments of which it is composed.
