DELYRIC

DELYRIC is a new production by the Vallès Symphony Orchestra based on Edmond Rostand’s classic, with dramaturgy and stage direction by Jordi Purtí. An experience in which opera, music and physical theatre intertwine to tell the story of Cyrano de Bergerac.

The narrative unfolds through excerpts from some of the best-known works in the operatic repertoire and sequences of physical theatre, performed live by an ensemble of 11 musicians and singers. The sung passages become the voice of the work: a soundtrack that provides context and emotion to the libretto and, together with gesture, reveals the characters and moves the story forward.

In DELYRIC, singing, music and movement become the true language of the theatre. The musicians and singers are also actors, using their bodies and voices to create a sensory and poetic theatrical universe.

An experience for audiences of all ages that invites us to rediscover the classic story of Cyrano de Bergerac from a new perspective and to listen to the classics with all our hearts.
