Shigeaki Saegusa: The Last Message
The Roppongi Male Chorus ZIG-ZAG and the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès present for the first time in Barcelona —and in Spain— The Last Message, a work by renowned Japanese composer Shigeaki Saegusa. The concert, conducted by Maestro Hirofumi Misawa, will take place on November 30 at L’Auditori de Barcelona.
The Last Message is a work of great expressive power that blends Japanese choral tradition with a profound reflection on historical memory and the transmission of a universal message of peace. Since its premiere, the piece has been performed in major international venues, becoming a symbol of dialogue between cultures and generations.
This concert, the result of collaboration between a prestigious Japanese choir and one of Catalonia’s most active symphony orchestras, offers a unique opportunity to strengthen cultural ties between Japan and Catalonia. For this reason, we propose to include this activity within the framework of the Catalonia–Japan Year, highlighting the shared commitment to promoting the values of harmony and mutual understanding through music.
