MENDELSSOHN'S VIOLIN CONCERT

The concert season of the Vallès Symphony Orchestra continues with Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto performed by the young and promising Catalan violinist Maria Florea. From the same author we will hear theChoral Symphony no. 2"Logbesang" with the voices of l'Orfeó Català and the sopranos Marta Mathéu, Elena Copons and the tenor >David Alegret. In addition, the work Hero und Leander by Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel, Felix's sister and which was not recognized at the time by the prevailing culture, will be offered of the time A program to claim all the members of the Mendelssohn family directed by Xavier Puig.

The concerts will take place on Saturday 7 October (6.30pm) at the Palau de la Música Catalana, on Sunday 8 (6pm ) at LaFACT Cultural Terrassa and will return to the Palau on Tuesday 10 October (8pm) as an exclusive function for audiences between the ages of 18 and 35. This concert is part of the Palau de la Música Catalana's Vibe35 proposal, with a reduced price of €20.

The Violin Concerto and the Symphony no. 2 Mendelssohn's "Lobgesang" as well as the composer Fanny Hensel's work "Hero und Leander" are masterpieces of the classical and romantic repertoire.

Mendelssohn's violin concerto influenced the concertos of several composers, who used features of it for their own concertos. Tchaikovsky, Sibelius or Liszt, for example, were inspired by the German composer to compose their works. This is why Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto is one of the most popular and performed concertos of all time. It requires total mastery of the instrument and a technical precision matched by few soloists. Maria Florea, born of the Trio da Vinci, takes on the challenge and is sure to move us and touch our hearts.

Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 2 "Lobgesang" is a work that combines brilliant compositional skills with deep emotional and spiritual force. With a variety of textures, unforgettable melodies and moments of great exaltation, this symphony captivates the audience and conveys a sense of grandeur and musical beauty. Written between 1839 and 1840, this symphony is considered one of the most important and innovative works of the German composer.

Listening to them live in the wonderful modernist venue of the Palau de la Música Catalana accompanied by the magnificent voices of the Orfeó Català, together with Marta Mathéu, Elena Copons and David Alegret and the Vallès Symphony Orchestra will allow us to enjoy of a unique and exciting experience as we immerse ourselves in Mendelssohn's majestic melodies.

Although Fanny Hensel's work did not receive the recognition and publicity it deserved during her lifetime, "Hero und Leander" is now valued as a significant contribution to Romantic music and as an example of the her extraordinary creativity as a composer.
