Franz A. Hoffmeister          Concert for viola in D major
Antonín Dvorák                   Symphony Nº 9 in E minor, op. 95, “From the New World”

Pablo González is one of the OSV’s best loved conductors. His passion for music will be incarnated in the symphony “From the New World”, by Dvorák, composed in New York, where, between his love for the new land he was discovering and his love for his much-missed Bohemia, the Czech composer wrote one of the most beautiful pages of the literature of the orchestra. We will present, at the Palau, Joaquín Riquelme, a young talent who will interpret one of the most delicate pieces in the viola canon: the concerto by Hoffmeister, a close friend of Mozart and Beethoven, to whom the genius from Salzburg dedicated a string quartet. The concert will open with a surprise work chosen by the conductor. The composer: Italian. The subject: “plans for parks”. Enough said...
