Music and environment
The central theme chosen by the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès for the 08/09 season is the relationship between Music and the Environment. We interpret symphonic works with resonant titles like Beethoven’s “Pastoral”, Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” or Txaikovski’s “Winter Dreams”.
However we intend to go further, wishing to take the opportunity to reach a wide and varied audience and to help that audience to realize its responsibility towards the environment. This is why we have planned the following acts during the concerts:
√ Talks/workshops after the concerts, dealing with the importance of recycling and the responsible use of natural resources (for example, a recycled instrument workshop).
√ Allotting a space on all our paper publications (concert tickets, tri-monthly magazine, programmes, and seasonal programmes) for an environmental message (ten suggestions for saving water on the backs of tickets or the backs of programmes).
√ A “green space” on our web page in which to publish relevant environmental news and to provide the visitor with a quantity of informative and educational material dealing with environmental issues.
√ Offer the audience ecological tools for domestic use (mechanisms for saving water etc.)
