An evening for romantic opera
It’s no secret that the Castell de Peralada Festival has a profound admiration and weakness for tenor voices. Over more than three decades, nearly all the most acclaimed tenors of every generation have appeared on its stages, and this year sees the return of the great Juan Diego Flórez to the festival. To mark the occasion, one of the most desired and sought-after voices by the best opera houses worldwide, a romantic bel canto tenor par excellence, will be singing alongside young soprano Ruzan Mantashyan on an evening where acclaimed conductor Guillermo García Calvo will be leading the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès. The exquisite ability in the phrasing and the vocal quality of clear and luminous sharps of the Peruvian tenor, added to the acclaimed musicality and theatrical art of one of the most promising artists of her generation, will win over the hearts of the audience with a programme featuring the best duets and arias of the French and Italian romantic repertoire.
